All About Our Repertoire Workshops

Ensemble playing is a team sport!  Gaining experience rehearsing, perfecting and performing with other musicians is one of our most important goals at the Super Summer Music Camp. During our final day at camp, all students will be performing in the Super Summer Music Festival 2020 with their ensemble.  Placement in an ensemble will be based on your child's lesson group.

OUR ELECTIVES
Musician's Tool Kit
Our newest edition to the stable of awesome elective options! The Musician's Tool Kit is not your run-of-the-mill theory class.  Learning about the Guidonian hand, how notes relate to each other, how chords are built, the use of different clefs and time signatures are all covered to help form the complete musician.  Not recommended for beginning musicians.

Movie & Sound Studio
Welcome to the inner workings of movie making, song production, beat creation and ringtone recording.  Students will be able to create their own songs and join with others in team building activities. All participants will learn to save and upload their creations.  Students who register for this class must provide their own set of headphones or stereo earbuds.

Art Kitchen
A creative way to merge your musical side with your crafty side. This popular “get crafty with Jackie” hands-on elective invites students to craft their own music-related art projects using tiles, rocks, mugs, tie dye and other unique objects.

Live At The Improv
Get ready to improvise!  Using a rhythm section of prerecorded modern pop, rock, and jazz tracks, Mr. J will have you playing like a pro during your very first meeting.  Advanced students as well as our first note beginners will have a blast playing fun new melodies, solos and riffs using this innovative approach to improvisation and expression.

Swingin’ & Singin’
Do you like to dance?  Do you like to sing?  In this new class run by the famous Ms. Kelly, why not do both?  Swingin’ & Singin’ will fuse swing and line dancing and put a modern twist on the whole thing.  Get ready to move, sing, dance, perform and have fun!

I Got Rhythm
This unique and inventive group uses automotive parts, handmade percussion and original string-like instruments.  Your camper will be amazed by the music they will be creating on not so traditional instruments fashioned from materials like brake drums, hoses, tin cans, boxes, buckets, plastic containers and trash cans.

Uke Can Dot it!
The Uke Can Do It is a fantastic way to bring your music anywhere you go.  This fun-filled elective will provide campers of all abilities the opportunity to read music, play chords and perform modern pop songs on the Ukulele.  All participants must provide their own Ukulele for this elective.
